The United States Postal Service (USPS) has filed a proposal to eliminate Bound Printed Matter (BPM) Flats and Parcels from their service offerings.
BPM is a special postal category that has historically offered the lowest available rates for catalogs, books, and other bound printed materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
The change, outlined in a December 20, 2024 filing with the Postal Regulatory Commission, would take effect no earlier than July 2025.
We’d like to share with you our near-term plans.
As much as we love our old website, it’s quite dated. The old horse has worked hard, so its retirement is well-deserved.
It’s a great pleasure for us to introduce Alwin Hoogerdijk, the founder of Collectorz.com. Alwin kindly shared with us the inspiring story of his business, which started as a hobby and, unexpectedly for him, grew into a company with a number of successful software products. ISBNdb, a leading provider of ISBN information, continues to expand its database at an impressive pace. With the recent addition of another 2 million ISBNs, ISBNdb now offers over 33 million unique ISBNs, making it one of the largest and most comprehensive databases of its kind.
Lately, we’ve crossed a major milestone, surpassing 31 million unique ISBNs in our database. This impressive achievement is a testament to ISBNdb’s ongoing commitment to providing the most comprehensive and accurate ISBN information available.
We invest a lot of effort ISBNdb into improving the quality of our book data and overall user experience. As part of this process, we have removed the “synopsis” and “overview” data points, and replaced them with a single, more comprehensive data point called “Synopsis”. This change not only eliminates redundancies in the data but also makes it cleaner and more user-friendly.
We have recently rolled out a major update to our search filters, making it easier to find books based on specific criteria. With this update, you can now filter the search results by publishing year and edition both on the website and through the API.
ISBNdb has recently launched a new mobile scanner feature which makes it much easier to access a book’s data by scanning the barcode.
