Google Co-op tools for ISBNdb.com
What is it?
Google Co-op is an opt-in service
that lets its members cooperate in improving Google search results.
ISBNdb.com is happy to be one of the first data providers for Google
Co-op network. We hope you will find our additions to google search
results useful once you
subscribe to our extended links.
What are the benefits?
- You can avoid an extra step of retrieving ISBNdb.com from bookmarks
by searching right from Google.
- You can easily search ISBNdb.com from your desktop hotkey or from
your search toolbar if you use them.
- For popular books you can get information right on Google search
results page, without visiting ISBNdb.com at all (even though we'd of
course love you to visit us).
- You tell us what else you would like to
be able to do. We love to hear your comments!
How does it work?
Once you subscribe,
when you search for some specific queries on Google
you will see an additional informational block above the regular
search results that we provide through Google Co-op project. Note that
subscribing to ISBNdb.com's feed does not alter your search results in
any other way. You can always ignore, delete or turn off the subscribed
link in the search results.
Here are queries we support:
- isbndb ###
- When you start your query with 'isbndb' we simply show you a link to
perform the same search on ISBNdb.com's web site. This is especially
handy when you do searches from Firefox toolbar -- in effect you can in
one extra click search ISBNdb.com from your toolbar without installing
any additional tools/extensions.
Example: isbndb terry pratchett
- isbn ###
- When you search for word 'isbn' followed by the book's 10-digits
ISBN number or 13-digits UPC/extended ISBN number we try to show you
this book's information. Unfortunately, due to limitations on how much
data we can load into Google for some books you will only see a handy
link to this book's data on ISBNdb.com.
Example: isbn 0596527063
- isbn ### prices
- For this query we attempt to show you this book's best price for
used and new conditions.
Example: isbn 0596527063 prices
- isbn ### similar
- For this query we attempt to show you the first book that is most
similar to the one you provided ISBN number for.
Example: isbn 033400053X similar
Please note, that all example queries above will only work once you
subscribe to ISBNdb.com's Co-op feed.
